I always feel welcome in our Writing Group - which is rarely about representation or not at all. It is about severe interest in the other person, the other writing, about constructive feedback and honest participation in a realm that is bigger than me and still doesn't make me feel small. We *female* participants seem to tap into commonalities based on mere human grounds - hence the confident atmosphere. 

My writing in English (my mother tongue is German) is liberating, as I was able and happy to discover: no deeply rooting inhibitions, no prevalent well-known expectations, no subsurface frictions - simply the love and joy of language and imagination, of form and emotion. Don't want to miss it anymore.
